What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)?
PM-KISAN is a Government of India scheme that provides income support to eligible landholding farmer families across the country.
The benefit is ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Eligibility
- Landholding farmer families (as per land records)
- Name present in the village land records
- Valid Aadhaar and an Aadhaar-linked bank account
- Excludes income-tax payers, institutional landholders and certain high-income/professional categories
Benefits
- ₹6,000 per year in three ₹2,000 instalments
- Direct bank transfer (DBT), no middlemen
- Helps cover input costs like seeds and fertiliser

Application process
Step 1. Register
Register on the official PM-KISAN portal, or via a CSC / your local revenue (patwari) officer.
Step 2. Complete eKYC
Finish eKYC (Aadhaar OTP or biometric), instalments can be held without it.
Step 3. Check status
Use “Beneficiary Status” on the portal to track your instalments.
